Begin by locating the armature positioned at the core–this coiled rotor generates the magnetic field essential for conversion of electrical energy into mechanical torque. Without precise alignment of its windings, resistance increases, leading to inefficiency or premature failure. Verify the commutator surface for uniformity; uneven wear disrupts current flow, causing intermittent engagement. Clean it with 400-grit sandpaper if pitting exceeds 0.2mm in depth.
