
Begin with the spool assembly–this is the heart of any high-performance fishing device. The spool itself should rotate freely, balanced by precision bearings. Check the spool tension knob first; improper adjustment causes backlash, wasting fishing time. Most advanced models include a centrifugal braking system–usually with 4-6 adjustable pins–to control line release during casts. Disable or misconfigure this, and accuracy drops sharply.
