Begin by locating the strainer basket assembly–this primary filter sits directly beneath the lid, often secured by a threaded ring or latch mechanism. If debris removal is inefficient, inspect the basket’s mesh for tears; replacements measure 8–12 inches in diameter, depending on the model variant. Attachments like the weir door (the hinged flap regulating water flow) should move freely–lubricate pivot points with silicone spray if stiffness occurs. Replace worn doors immediately, as compromised seals lead to suction loss and pump strain.
