
Begin by examining the rear access panel–this section typically houses critical connections like gas valves and ignition systems. Label each element before disassembly: solenoid valves (positioned near the regulator), burner tubes (check for corrosion at junctions), and flame tamper assemblies. A standard 1/4" hex key removes securing screws; twist counterclockwise to avoid stripping threads. Replace any worn O-rings immediately–use silicone-based (not petroleum) lubricant to prevent cracking under heat.
