Start repairs or maintenance by obtaining a clear schematic of the internal layout. The appliance in question has distinct sections labeled A through F on most breakdown charts. Section A covers the needle assembly and shuttle mechanism–often the first components to wear down. If thread jams occur frequently, check the shuttle race (part #427-8901) for accumulated lint or misalignment. This area houses the bobbin case (part #386-5429), which must rotate smoothly without resistance. Replace both if scoring or irregularities appear.
